Five educators in the Clinton Public Schools system have been nominated for district-wide Teacher of the Year honors. Among the honorees, who have already been named Teacher of the Year for their respective school sites are Hillary Barnes, Nance Elementary; Rhett Blundell, Clinton Middle School; Katie Ferrell, Washington Elementary; Sherrie Johnson, Clinton High School; and Aleksi Richert, Southwest.

Berrong selected for Mayors Council

The Mayors Council of Oklahoma (MCO) Board of Directors has selected four new members to join the board, and among them is Clinton’s Mayor David Berrong.

The H.O.S.T. Ministries Church at 605 Avant will be holding a Christmas Community Meal from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 14. Organizers say everyone is welcome and residents can either eat at the church or take the food with them. All will receive a fruit snack. When Debra Mendez retired from the State of Oklahoma after working as a vision rehabilitation specialist, she found a part-time job that was close to her heart to become director of volunteers at the Clinton Regional Hospital gift shop.

The Moreno family of Clinton will host a community Our Lady of Guadalupe celebration lunch at noon Dec. 12 at McLain Rodgers Park, located on Jaycee Lane.
