While most Clinton residents tried to stay inside Monday when temperatures were in the teens, several essential workers had to brave the frigid elements.

The regular meeting of the Custer County Board of County Commissioners held Monday morning included personnel changes for the new year alongside regular business.

Citizens set to decide hospital issue

Clinton citizens will be the determining factor Jan. 14 when they go to the polls to approve or disapprove the impending sale of Clinton Regional Hospital to Rural Hospital Solutions. The vote must be approved by a majority outcome of 50% of the vote plus one to go forward.

On Dec. 27, Jesse Freeman, 38, of Clinton, was arrested by the Custer County Sheriff’s Office on the charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon with intent to injure. That weapon happened to be a motor vehicle.
