The Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office has awarded grant funding to sheriff offices across all 77 Oklahoma counties. All grants given out are for the amount of $150,000, $250,000, or $300,000. The Custer County Sheriff’s Office has received a grant in the amount of $250,000.

Alumnus returns to sing CBA’s praises

After graduating from Corn Bible Academy 22 years ago, Keith Warkentin returned Dec. 1 to work at the school that he believes helped shape him into the man he is today.

Clinton has many churches affiliated with many different denominations of Christianity. One thing they all have in common is they all have a very involved youth and youth group programs. One church here in Clinton that has a large youth program is Cornerstone Church. The head youth pastor, Greg Ferrell, has been at Cornerstone for two years, and is very involved in teaching the youth at the church and in the community about their religion.

Rock garden

Washita Chapter NSDAR honorary regent Carol Ann Batterton is working on an ongoing rock garden project to be placed in veteran clinics. The rocks serve as a thank you to the veterans for their service. Batterton was presented rocks painted by the Arapaho-Butler High School art class taught by Angela Dupree. The Oklahoma Opioid Abatement Board has recently granted funding to the South Western Oklahoma Development Authority (SWODA). According to a press release from SWODA, the funds are meant “to be used to decrease the impact of the current opioid crisis. SWODA hopes to increase resources and services that save lives and decrease or prevent illicit opioid use.”
