Believing the home to allegedly being “haunted,” Tavar Lamont Davis, 37, of Clinton, allegedly purposefully set fire March 13 to the home he was staying at located at 317 S. 16th St .

The Clinton Fire Department has been extremely busy for the last five to six days as high winds causing fire danger will remain for most of the week.

Eventually the community of Clinton will grow by two new citizens with Clinton Regional Hospital adding Dr. Nadia Azuero as a primary care physician to the medical facility. The other will be Mannolo, her Bichon Frisé. Her brother affectionately calls him “Quack-Quack” because he follows her everywhere. It’s assumed both will eventually require appointments for people to see in the coming days.

Flames ravaged the inside of the home located at 317 S. 16th St. twice in less than 24 hours. The house caught fire around 1:30 p.m. Thursday and again around 6:30 a.m. Friday.

More than 10 Clinton residents and the Clinton Fire Department received a presentation recently at Clinton Regional Hospital about the prevalence of fentanyl in Oklahoma from DEA Special Agent Brook Wilson.

The House of Representatives passed two measures this week that would reform the way judges are vetted and selected in Oklahoma.

While financials, prospective areas of growth, and other matters were discussed at Wednesday’s Clinton Hospital Authority meeting, the one major question everyone seems to have came up when talks turned to the impending sale of Clinton Regional Hospital from the City of Clinton to Rural Hospital Solutions and its partner 3rd Avenue West.
