Clinton dog pound volunteer Justine Caler is urging the public to attend the May 6 Clinton City Council Meeting at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall to ask for funds to build a new dog pound after City Manager Robert Johnston told her now is the time for the request because they are in the process of creating a budget.

Two Clinton residents are facing felony charges after allegedly coming into a person’s house without permission leading to an alleged stabbing of a man.

The Clinton Public Schools Board of Education met for a few minutes Monday night to unanimously by a 5-0 vote approve the assistance of the Oklahoma State School Board Association as it looks for a superintendent to replace Tyler Bridges, who was named last week the superintendent in Stillwater.

Engineering success

Clinton High School student Joel Badillo represented Western Technology Center’s engineering program at the recent Oklahoma Technology Student Association State Leadership Conference in Norman. Badillo competed in Technology Problem Solving with Jantz Horton and then competed in Manufacturing Prototypes with teammates, Horton and William Long, both of Hammon. In both categories the WTC teams took first place and have qualified for Nationals in Nashville at the end of June.

Arapaho-Butler English teacher and academic coach Dana Dupree came to the conclusion after a number of years there was something missing for younger students in terms of academic contests.

While the contract between the City of Clinton and Rural Hospital Solutions was the “big ticket” item of Tuesday’s Clinton City Council meeting, there were other items of note as well.

Much like the Clinton City Council meeting held this week, the Clinton Hospital Authority meeting Wednesday held some significant items of interest to talk about after contracts were approved.
