Clinton Public Schools didn’t have to look far when choosing its next superintendent, as veteran administrator Nathan Meget assumed the responsibilities of the school system and getting the new CMS completed.

7 A-B wins softball title

The real fireworks were present on the diamond when the Arapaho-Butler Lady Indians bested the rest of the state to claim the school’s first fast-pitch state championship back in October.

The 2025 Clinton High School football season proved to be a rocky one with the Red Tornadoes finishing with a 4-7 record due to a forfeited contest as decreed by the OSSAA. Coach John Higbee, who has a state title to his credit and eight straight postseason appearances, was removed as head coach.

2 Homicide leads to 2 dead

A manhunt ensued when one man died due to gunshot wounds in his apartment in early March. The suspected killer was found by law enforcement along Fourth Street/U.S. Highway 183 and gunplay entered into the equation again. This time it was the suspected killer losing his life.
