Legionnaire Randy Meacham, seated, recently received a Quilt of Valor. The Quilt of Valor Foundation recognized him for his military service. Meacham was a captain in the U.S. Air Force and served in the Judge Advocate division. His family was present for the award presented at the American Legion Post meeting. The Wash House, the laundromat located on 10th street, experienced a fire December 30 knocking it out of commission. Since then Bryan Foster, with the help of his father, David Foster, have been repairing and updating the laundromat so it will be able to reopen soon, as it essentially reemerges from the ashes.

One bridge off Interstate 40 is in the process of being dismantled and it won’t be long until another one starts coming down with routes of traffic affected accordingly. With that will come change.

Local author Renee Hill has recently released “Bound,” the first book in her upcoming Danport series. Hill will be signing copies of her novel beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday at Place of Grace on Frisco Avenue.
