Jesus Santiago Salcido Amaya, 20, of Clinton, was arrested May 15 on charges of domestic assault and battery by strangulation, obstructing an officer, and firstdegree burglary.

Repairs to the roof took the spotlight at Wednesday’s Clinton Hospital Authority meeting, as board members approved declaring an emergency in order to insure the building before finalization of the impending sale of the facility to Rural Hospital Solutions.

With the 100-year centennial for the historic Route 66 just around the corner, the Oklahoma Route 66 Museum is hosting a book signing for Route 66 ambassadors Jim Ross and Shellee Graham’s new book “Route 66 – The First 100 Years,” from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday.

The recent situation involving the City of Clinton’s sewer line continues to be a mess for all involved. After a mainline break caused raw sewage to bypass onto a local wheat field, City officials are working with the Department of Environmental Quality to clean the area, but longterm solutions are yet to be determined.
