Much of Clinton had been experiencing power outages in the early morning hours Thursday. As of 1:45 p.m. Thursday PSO was reporting five customers without power, including Clinton businesses.

Nurses preparing for COVID-19

Nurse Sheffield Southall, who was the only nurse addressing all COVID-19 and other health concerns in the Clinton School District last year, will have someone to help her in the upcoming school year. However, both she and new assistant Jamie Goodwin are concerned about the recent upshot in COVID-19 cases and the Delta variant in particular.

Bridges to

State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister has named Clinton Superintendent of Schools Tyler Bridges to serve as a member on Oklahoma’s new Concurrent Enrollment Task Force.

Mendoza inducted to

Lynn Mendoza, along with 10 other cheer coaches, will be inducted into the Oklahoma Cheerleading Coaches Association Hall of Fame on Friday at 10 a.m. at Southern Hills Marriott in Tulsa.

Fiber cable for hospital
