DEAR HARRIETTE: I recently went home for a holiday break to visit my parents. I don’t really enjoy my time at home much because my mom is very controlling. She doesn’t let my sister or me drive her car to explore our hometown and what it has to offer since she is scared we will crash it. My dad is gone all the time, so we can’t use his car either. As a result, we are stuck in the house all break with nothing to do.

Clinton’s Mission House has a new director in Jessica Noel who is ready to once again help the shelter ramp up services and provide invaluable resources to the Clinton community.
The Clinton Public Schools District announced teachers, newcomers and support staff of the year recently. Seven support staff were chosen to be recognized by the district for their work ethic and school spirit.
If a person is driving down U.S. Highway 183, just 17 miles north of Clinton, they may see a man herding his sheep and taking care of lambs in his homemade nursery. That man is Perry Adams, former superintendent of Clinton Public Schools.
