Resource center changes its name

Connections Food and Resource Center, formerly known as Weatherford Food and Resource Center, Tuesday night celebrated the announcement of its new name and five years of service to western Oklahoma.

Sometime after Tuesday’s City Council meeting, Clinton Police Chief Paul Rinkel contacted parade chairman Mary Topaum representing AIM Indian Territory about changing the route of today’s parade.

Another 300 cubic yards of concrete was poured this week to create the parking area at the new Corn Bible Academy campus in Clinton. The latest segment is 30 feet wide, 450 feet long and 6 inches thick. Plans are to do a segment that size each week until the parking lot is complete.

Today is the 222nd day of 2021 and the 52nd day of summer.

Recently local, state, and federal officials toured the Upper Elk Creek Site 23D Rehabilitation on the east edge of Elk City.
