Reds’ run ends in tourney finals loss

CASHION – Two ranked, tournament wins elevated the Clinton boys’ basketball team (7-4 overall) into the Cashion Tourney title game against Class 2A, No. 1 Dale Saturday, and even though a pair of clutch Jackson Crumley threes forced overtime, CHS came up short, 65-63.

Clinton cruises by Vanoss, into semis

CASHION – The Cashion Tournament started off with an easy, blowout win in favor of the Clinton boys’ basketball team (6-3 overall) Thursday night, with CHS quickly pouncing on Class A, No. 8 Vanoss (12-3) and never letting its opponent off the floor in a 59-24 win.

ARAPAHO – A recent COVID-19 exposure forced numerous players for both Arapaho-Butler basketball teams into quarantine, but the remainders rallied together and prevailed nonetheless in Tuesday’s West Central Tournament openers.

The Clinton girls’ basketball team (5-3 overall) will not compete in the Cashion Tournament scheduled to start today.

Seven Reds place at conference

KINGFISHER – In just its second tournament of the season, the Clinton wrestling team put together another solid showing, placing sixth as a team, while seven Reds placed individually in the top six at conference, in Kingfisher.

Clinton goes 3-1 in back-to-back

Both Clinton basketball teams wrapped up a long stretch to open the post-Christmas break schedule, with a 3-1 combined mark Friday and Saturday night at home.
