Clutch free throws in the final minute from Atrel Bryson and a late-game take over by Caden Powell helped the Clinton boys’ basketball team (9-4 overall) to its fourth win in the last five games, against Anadarko Tuesday night at the Tornado Dome, 64-56.
There’s no doubt that the Clinton football team wouldn’t have made its state championship runner-up run without senior star running back/free safety Atrel Bryson, and the Oklahoma Coaches Association acknowledged that, honoring him with an All-State West roster spot at running back.

A few weeks removed from narrow district losses to Cache and Weatherford, the Clinton wrestling team proved it was better than its initial performances, earning a second-place tie with Weatherford at the Hub City Tournament this weekend, while defeating the Bulldogs by one point.
A 14-point lead heading into the final three weights faded, as the Clinton wrestling team (1-3 overall) fell to No. 11 Newcastle, 37-33, and then bounced back to beat an undermanned Kingfisher squad, 51-18, in a three-team dual Thursday at the Tornado Dome.
Successful seasons and eras require players that’ll do whatever is asked of them and play their role to the maximum, and that’s Clinton boys’ basketball senior forward Grant Kauk.
The Clinton High School wrestling team commences its annual Hub City Classic at 11 a.m. today.

WEATHERFORD – It took every second of the game and every ounce of mental toughness for the Clinton boys’ basketball team (8-4 overall) to erase multiple, doubledigit deficits and exit with a 64-61, ranked, rivalry, road win over No. 14 Weatherford (10-6) Tuesday night.
ARAPAHO – The Arapaho-Butler basketball teams were missing a combined nine players for the West Central Tournament, but neither one cowered in the face of adversity, competing through its final two games – both of which ended in losses.
