This year’s lone Clinton tennis senior, Hunter Staggs, earned a spot in the starting lineup as a sophomore and managed to qualify for state in each of his final two seasons, excluding the 2020 season which was canceled due to COVID-19.
The graduation of three, four-year starters in the golf program meant that multiple players would have to fill key roles in a potential bid to reach state by the end of the 2021 campaign.
As the 2021 Clinton boys’ golf season started winding down, senior Hardy Sperle began finding his stride, shooting some of his best scores of the year in the team’s last few tournaments.
Clinton soccer is one of the most competitive programs in the state, where starting and rotational positions are most definitely earned regardless of the player’s classification.
A year off due to the COVID-19 pandemic made Clinton Baseball Inc. miss hosting the coach pitch state tournament for the first time in four years, but for the summer of 2021, it’s back.
Clinton senior Zade Cisneros, pictured, was named to the 2021 Class 4A West All-Star roster. Cisneros also made the Western Oklahoma Baseball Coaches Association All-Star game along with teammates Grant Kauk and Trey Newcomb.

If there’s one major takeaway at Clinton football’s spring practice last week, it’s that physicality and playing with an edge are already in midseason form.
There were a couple seniors that played on the scout team and junior varsity for the Clinton boys’ soccer squad this past season, and efforts like senior defender Emerson Dominguez’s were rewarded with a state title ring.
