Clinton Public School District’s long-term capital improvement plan has evidently received an abundance of positive feedback from the community. Superintendent Tyler Bridges said he presented the plan to approximately 500 people so far, and he is happy with the outcome.

Clinton’s sales tax collections this fiscal year are currently 17% above those at the same point last calendar year, said City Treasurer Debra Blanchard. The city has collected six months’ worth of sales tax for the 2021-2022 fiscal year totaling almost $3.1 million.

Hopper newest

Officer Adam Hopper is one of the newest employees at the Clinton Police Department. Hopper is a Cordell resident with prior law enforcement experience. He was a sergeant at the Cordell Police Department for a year. Hopper said he is excited to use his knowledge to serve the Clinton community.

Teacher Debbie Carlisle samples a taste after CHS Gold Academy students prepared desserts for their holiday meal. Carlisle then asked students to figure the cost of making each dessert and compare that to the cost of purchasing them pre-made from the grocery store.

Rollover accident

Emergency personnel prepare to transport a woman involved in a single-vehicle rollover accident around 11 a.m. Wednesday on I-40 near the Custer City Road exit east of Clinton. She was taken by ambulance to AllianceHealth Clinton Hospital with what were believed to be non-serious injuries.
