DEAR HARRIETTE: I'm a new mother of a beautiful little girl. She is the light of my life, and she brings me so much joy! The more I think about going back to work, the more I feel like it is just not the right thing for me to do; I don't want to miss any special moments. Her father and I both work full time to maintain the life we have built together. I know both of our incomes are needed, but I want to stay home with her, at least until she's of school age. Should I ask her dad to get a second job so I can stay home? – Aspiring SAHM

An amendment to one of Clinton’s City Code ordinances was approved regarding clarification to what is considered “designated parking areas” in reference to parking in front yards during Tuesday’s regular Clinton City Council meeting.
Tuesday the Clinton High School football team was the honored guest at the State Capitol in Oklahoma City. Clinton’s own State Rep. Anthony Moore (pictured above with a tie on near the top of the sea of Red Tornado football players) hosted the 2021 Class 4A State Champions, as the team had the distinction of winning the school’s 17th football state championship. In addition to being guests at the Capitol, the team demonstrated its traditional raucous “C-Town!” chant. In the photo at right Moore presents an official proclamation to head coach John Higbee and assistant coach Jay Richert.
Clinton resident Tuhtaka Wilson, 49, was booked into the Custer County Jail at approximately noon on Wednesday after police officials had been looking for him since Jan. 28. Wilson was charged Feb. 1 with first-degree arson, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and three counts of malicious injury to property over $1,000.
The body of a 42-year-old Clinton man was found Monday morning by the train tracks on the north side of town. Clinton Detective Luis De La Torre and officers arrived at the Farmers Coop fuel station, in the 700 block of North Fourth Street, in reference to an “unattended death.”
Clinton Middle School is preparing for its annual bean supper fundraiser that is set to take place on Monday, Feb. 28. The night of events will begin at 4:30 p.m.
