Walking injury could be hyperextension of knee

Dear Doctors: I was walking our dog at night and didn't see a big hole in the sidewalk. I stepped right into it, full force, and I think my knee actually bent backwards. I can walk OK, but now my knee hurts. Could I have damaged something? How do I know if I need to see my doctor?

Clinton Police Department dispatcher Reagan Gagne, top, and Lt. Gail Lewis were recognized for their efforts by Clinton Fire Chief Brett Russell during National Dispatcher Week. There are seven Clinton dispatchers that handle all dispatching needs for police, fire and Emergency Medical Services in Clinton and Arapaho.

Two incumbents from Clinton, State Rep. Anthony Moore and County Commissioner Wade Anders, will have challengers this year following the close of filings Friday for state and county offices.
