The National Football Foundation (NFF) and College Hall of Fame recently announced the 2024 ballot for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame and former University of Oklahoma standouts Rocky Calmus, Josh Heupel and Dewey Selmon earned spots among the 78 players listed from the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Family affair

Dr. Floyd Simon Jr., right, ran with some familiar folks in last weekend’s Clinton Classic. At left is his niece, Jenna Woodward, who was the fastest female 10K runner with a time of 38:56.14. His grandson, Floyd Simon IV, middle, ran his first ever 5K with a time of 30:47.44. Dr. Simon completed the 5K with a time of 35:41.33. The original race results had the granfather’s and grandson’s time flipped. Floyd Simon IV actually bested his grandfather by almost five minutes.

Reds fall in home contest with Elk City

Monday the Clinton Reds baseball team played on its home field for the final time this summer season until the end of the month, where they welcomed the Elk City Elks.
