Longtime coach Louis Mendoza is stepping away

A career that’s spanned across threeplus decades in the Clinton Public school system is coming to a close, with longtime CHS football assistant coach Louis Mendoza set to move into semi-retirement at the conclusion of the school year.

CHS starts state

The Clinton High School track team begins the Class 5A state meet this morning in Ardmore. Hurdler Javion Hill, pictured, and throwers Montiel Crane, Lola Hester and Kat Meacham will all be competing for the Reds. CDN

Reds meet rival for chance at title

It’s a rivalry matchup for the Class 4A boys’ soccer state championship, and the winner between Clinton (17-0 overall) and Woodward (13-4) will capture the program’s first ever state title on the boys’ side.

Fletcher willing to help wherever for CHS

Clinton senior Ashlynn Fletcher was one of many firstyear, slow-pitch softball players to rise up the depth chart and contribute in a major way this past season.

Back to the state finals

The wait is finally over for the Clinton boys’ soccer team (17-0 overall), after six years and five seasons between their last appearance, CHS is headed back to the Class 4A state championship.

CHS tennis qualifies all spots for state

OKLAHOMA CITY – A quick roster adjustment helped lock in all three spots and all five Clinton boys’ tennis players for this weekend’s state tournament, at the regional tourney Monday at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center.

Not to be outdone, the Arapaho-Butler boys’ golf team took the long postseason route but had an individual qualify for state in the program’s first year.

Indians finish first season at state

In its inaugural season at Arapaho-Butler High School, the track team qualified three spots for the Class A state meet at regionals in Cherokee and placed others.
