Perfect year ends with gold

OKLAHOMA CITY – For 78:59 of game time, the Clinton boys’ soccer team (18-0 overall) held a lead in the Class 4A state title game Friday night at Taft Stadium – it just needed to hang on for dear life in the final minutes, against District 4A-2 opponent Woodward (13-5).

ARDMORE – A regional title is special in its own right for a freshman, but it wasn’t enough for Clinton thrower Kat Meacham. The first year varsity competitor threw 133-feet, one-inch on her final, discus throw of the day to claim the Class 5A state title Saturday.

Longtime coach Louis Mendoza is stepping away

A career that’s spanned across threeplus decades in the Clinton Public school system is coming to a close, with longtime CHS football assistant coach Louis Mendoza set to move into semi-retirement at the conclusion of the school year.

It’s a rivalry matchup for the Class 4A boys’ soccer state championship, and the winner between Clinton (17-0 overall) and Woodward (13-4) will capture the program’s first ever state title on the boys’ side.

Fletcher willing to help wherever for CHS
