Modified version of Custer County Fair this year

At the last meeting of the Custer County Free Fair board, members decided to go ahead with the fair this year. It’s going to look a lot different, though. The livestock and horse shows will be held on Friday, Sept. 11 and Saturday, Sept. 12, but there will be no still exhibits because of the COVID-19 virus transmission risk.

Churches collaborate on free school supplies

Free backpacks and school supplies for kids up to sixth grade will be available for Clinton students at a giveaway event to be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at McLain Rogers Park. Families who come that evening will also be treated to free hot dogs and drinks, said organizers.

Just days after an outof-state individual was arrested for false identification, another suspect was arrested with the same charge Tuesday night in Clinton.
