House lost in early morning blaze

The Clinton Fire Department was busy early Friday morning when a fence fire led to a home going up in flames in the 300 block of Van Buren Drive. While there were no injuries in the blaze, the house is considered to be a total loss from smoke and heat damage after flames on the home’s carport quickly spread.

‘Conflict’ rivalry used to spur food drive

Clinton High School students and football fans know that next Friday night, Oct. 6, will be the famous annual football game held between rivals, the Clinton Red Tornadoes and the Weatherford Eagles, colloquially known as the “Custer County Conflict.”
