Washita NSDAR attends luncheon

Members of Washita Chapter NSDAR, from left, Ellena Womack, Lu Eisler, Regent Nancy Lisle, Carol Ann Batterton, Mareen Hallmark and Marci Grant attended the Oklahoma City Regents Council NSDAR George Washington luncheon held at Oklahoma Christian University in Edmond. The program, on the 150th anniversary of the Transcontinental Railroad, was presented by the Oklahoma Railway Museum.

State Superintendent of Public Instruction Joy Hofmeister has announced that she will propose a Continuous Learning Plan to the State Board of Education this week to complete the school year for Oklahoma students without reopening school buildings during the global pandemic. While the education of schoolchildren will resume with distance learning, there will not be traditional, in-person instruction or extracurricular activities, instead following critical safety guidance from the Centers for Disease Control with regard to social distancing for students, staff and school families.

Bridges returns to take CPS helm

The Clinton Board of Education voted unanimously this week to hire Tyler Bridges as the school district’s new superintendent, effective July 1.
