On April 21, the Clinton City Council approved hiring a law firm from Dallas to represent the city after the owners of the Glancy Motel, SWAYAM Properties, LLC, filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection in the United States District Court for Eastern Texas. The city is involved in the bankruptcy because it has condemned the Glancy Motel property at 217 Gary Blvd. for safety and health reasons.
