This week Clinton Public Schools released information on the “learning options” students will have in the 2020-21 school year, which begins on Thursday, Aug. 13. Superintendent Tyler Bridges hopes the options are such that no parent is left feeling like they don’t have a good option for their student.

Pickup wrecks on Route 66

A single-car rollover accident with injuries took place on Gary Boulevard Thursday morning, near Riverside Golf Course. Pictured are, from left, Clinton Police Lt. Shane Harrelson, Sinor EMT Raven Cantrell, Clinton Firefighter Justin Hill, Clinton Police Officer Lacey Hulett, Sinor EMS Critical Care Paramedic Michelle Addington, Clinton Firefighters Dylon Kupka, John Denney and Capt. Forrest Valentine. Two people were involved in the accident. One was not injured and the other received external trunk injuries. The truck apparently swerved to avoid hitting an animal on the roadway.

Clinton Chamber of Commerce President Julie Caldwell has announced that the 2020 Chamber of Commerce Banquet, originally scheduled for Aug. 14, has been postponed by the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

Today is the 199th day of 2020 and the 28th day of summer.

It’s rodeo weekend in Clinton

Clinton Round-Up Club (CRC) Rodeo Queen, Princess and Pee-Wee Princess candidates will compete in front of judges at a contest to be held at 6 p.m. tonight at Nance Rotary Park.

The Custer County Health Department (CCHD) will hold a free COVID-19 testing event from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Custer County Fairgrounds Activity Center, said Regional Director Terri Salisbury. Anyone 6 years old and up can receive a test, regardless of whether or not they are showing symptoms of the virus.
