Jesse Tointigh, 22, of Weatherford, is back behind bars after walking away from the Clara Waters Community Corrections Center in Oklahoma City Jan. 16. At the time of his escape, Tointigh was serving multiple concurrent five-year sentences for false personation, thirddegree burglary, and carrying a firearm while under supervision out of Custer County.

Local first responders remained busy late Wednesday night into Thursday morning after waves of winter weather and frozen rain moved through the area resulting in multiple wrecks on Interstate 40, one ending in a fatality. As rescue and cleanup operations continued, portions of I-40’s eastbound lanes remained closed until mid-Thursday morning.
