Clinton educators attend conference at Frisco Center

Teachers from the Clinton Public School District attended a conference Wednesday and Thursday to aid the success of future students. Although attendance was not mandatory, roughly 130 dedicated individuals came to help create a brighter future.

Clinton’s City Council has two member seats up for re-election this year. Seats for Ward 1 and Ward 3 are available to file for anyone living within those wards. Filing opens at the Custer County Election Board July 12 and closes on July 14.

A 29 year-old Weatherford woman died Wednesday in a single-vehicle accident southwest of Lambert, Okla. Lambert is located in Alfalfa County, approximately 30 miles southeast of Alva.

Last June, Oklahomans voted to expand SoonerCare eligibility to adults ages 19 to 64 whose income is at or below 138 percent of the federal poverty level. Doctors’ offices will begin seeing newly insured patients across Oklahoma when the expansion takes effect July 1, 2021.
