As the end of summer comes into view, Custer County Commissioners are working to complete road maintenance projects before cold weather prevents it after a late start to the summer season’s work due to rainy weather.

Jason John Rothbard, 45, of Huntington Beach, Calif., has been charged with aggravated trafficking in illegal drugs and possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute after a routine traffic stop along Interstate 40 Aug. 31 led to the discovery of 482 pounds of marijuana along with nearly 1,000 pounds of THC-infused products.

County fair livestock winners

The Custer County Free Fair was held last weekend, with those attending bringing a plethora of livestock, arts and crafts, canned goods, and even short stories. On Friday morning, students from FFA and 4-H chapters from Clinton, Thomas, Weatherford and Arapaho- Butler, showed up with their projects of various species and breeds in hopes that while strutting around the arena, they would catch the judge’s eyes.
