This summer in western Oklahoma, heavy rains have washed across the area keeping the ground and vegetation moist leading to a less than average summer wildfire season according to Clinton Fire Chief Brett Russell. And with the wet weather, officials say they have their sights set on preparing for a busy winter wildfire season as new growth dries out in the coming weeks and months.

Storms leave water tower roof in ruin

The damages of the July 7 storm are still the No. 1 priority of Public Works Director Gene Mc-Cullough, with the main concern now the water tower by the intersection of Broadway Avenue and 18th Street.

Jared Deck returns for this week’s Levitt concert

Jared Deck will be returning to Clinton as a headliner for this week’s Levitt Amp Clinton concert at the McLain Rogers Amphitheater. The concert will kick off at 7 p.m. Friday and will also feature a performance by the Oklahoma Opry.
