In Saturday’s edition of the Clinton Daily News, a member of the team that won Flight A in the CPSF Golf Tournament was misidentified. His name is John Simon not Junior Simon.

With the competition of the championship game Monday night, a 6-0 defensive win for the Maroon Team, the Clinton NEXT League completed its first season of operation playing peewee football.

Clinton’s football season ends in Tuttle

The Clinton Red Tornado football team (4-7, 4-3) saw its season come to an end Friday night after losing 51-6 in Tuttle to the Tigers in the first round of the Class 4A State Playoffs.

For last week’s edition of the Clinton Daily News’ Pigskin Football Contest, the final one of the 2025 season, Janice Smith, of Clinton, took home the top prize after correctly guessing all 10 games in the first round of the playoffs.

During its 10th annual School Spirit Golf Tournament, the Clinton Public School Foundation raised more than $20,000 that will go toward teacher grants, scholarships and student academic achievement events.

Despite finding itself down two touchdowns twice in the game Friday in Kingfisher, the Clinton Red Tornado football team (0-2) managed to fight back both times before falling in the extra period 35-28 to the Yellowjackets.
