TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama is firing baseball coach Brad Bohannon after a report of suspicious bets involving his team, with the school saying he violated “the standards, duties and responsibilities expected of university employees.”

The Clinton Lady Reds golf team completed the first round Wednesday at Weatherford’s Prairie West Golf Course for the two-day Class 4A State Tournament in hopes of trying to secure an additional state title after capturing the academic state title for this year.

Senior proud of team’s camaraderie

Being a senior in an athletic program, especially one of the top players, brings with it the status of being at the top of the pecking order in the school.

Sometimes a season ends way before it is expected to. For Clinton senior tennis player Rachelle Sanchez, she expected to be playing for a state title this weekend.

Partygoer wonders about picture-posting etiquette

DEAR HARRIETTE: I went to a lovely party hosted by a prominent, successful couple. In the past, they have not wanted photos to be shared from their events, but this time they didn’t say anything. They even had a professional photographer there, and they allowed everyone to take pictures with their cameras and smartphones. Now that the event is over, I want to post pictures like I always do after I have enjoyed myself. But I’m not sure if it would be appropriate to do so. I don’t want to offend my friend or get uninvited because I broke an unwritten rule. What should I do? — What Is Private?

Short, intense workouts are beneficial

Dear Doctors: I started running a year ago to deal with stress and to get in better shape. Instead of a set distance, I do 15 minutes of mixed fast and slow running twice a day. But a friend says unless you’re always trying to go farther and faster, it’s not really helpful. Is that actually true?
