Zebra mussels were first reported at Foss Lake in 2018 and are slowly spreading. Officials are asking people who visit Foss — and all other bodies of water in the state, for that matter — to do their part to prevent a full-blown invasion, by thoroughly cleaning boats and other equipment after they’re removed from the water.

Clinton is not in a burn ban right now, but it is facing extremely hot, dry and windy conditions daily that could result in a fire.
