STILLWATER – The Clinton boys’ basketball team traveled deeper than it had in almost 10 years, when it concluded the 2019-2020 season Friday in a, 66-53, area consolation semifinals loss to Metro Christian.
STILLWATER – There is little room for error in the area tournament, especially in elimination games, and the Clinton boys’ basketball team made sure it played as flawlessly as possible to stay alive Thursday afternoon, beating Victory Christian, 64-55.
OKLAHOMA CITY – A complete contrast from the previous defensive battle, the Arapaho- Butler boys’ basketball team busted out for a big offensive game and hung on late to take down Hydro-Eakly, 65-57, in the state tournament opener Thursday afternoon in the Big House.
The playmaker of the Clinton girls’ soccer program’s recent state title run made her college decision for the next few years, as senior midfielder Aubrey Gonzales signed with Rose State College Wednesday at Clinton High School.
Clinton’s track program continues to build in a positive direction, as it enter its third year under head coach Cory Strahorn.
Clinton senior defender Angel Rodriguez and the Clinton soccer program are back on the field at 6 p.m. tonight at the Tornado Bowl against Bethany. Both Clinton teams look to move to 2-0 on the year.
A 6-1 win over Putnam City North for the Clinton girls’ soccer team (1-0 overall) kicked off a big opening night for the program, and Devin Keel closed it out with a gamewinning goal to clinch a 2-1 victory for the CHS boys (1-0).
What better way to open up the state tournament for the No. 9 Arapaho-Butler boys’ basketball team (25-3 overall), than to face No. 6 Hydro- Eakly (26-4) in a western Oklahoma rivalry matchup at 3:30 p.m. today at ‘The Big House’ in OKC.
OKLAHOMA CITY – Three of Clinton wrestling’s four state qualifiers earned wins at the state tournament Friday in Jim Norick Arena and closed out the year with a positive to build on for next season or at the next level.
A matchup against a scrappy Victory Christian squad opens the area tournament for the No. 16 Clinton boys’ basketball team (16-10 overall) at 3 p.m. Thursday in Stillwater.
