It’s been a wild ride for slow-pitch softball since it returned to Clinton High School in 2019, as the program played just one season, before CO- VID-19 shut down the program in 2020, and now, it returns with a new head coach in Shawn Finch.

Nolasquez’s fast start

Clinton forward Maria Nolasquez has scored nine goals in four games. The junior backed up all-time leading goal scorer Macey Fernandez for two years and is breaking out now. CDN

Reds protect lead, beat Elks

Early defensive errors were smoothed over by Clinton starting pitcher Mason Walpole and reliever Caden Powell, as the duo combined for 14 strikeouts and kept the team’s lead intact to give the Reds an 8-6 win Tuesday at home over Elk City – their first of the year.

The Clinton baseball team (0-2 overall, 0-1 in district) opened district play, with a 13-3, run-rule loss at Elk City (2-2, 1-0) Monday.

Clinton gets some wins at Altus

ALTUS – It didn’t take the Clinton tennis team long to pick up some wins and get some confidence after a difficult opener at the Norman Tournament, as the Reds and Lady Reds bounced back with a few wins and one top-three finish at the Altus Tournament last week.

Indians take third at tourney

STERLING – The No. 13 Arapaho- Butler baseball team (2-1 overall) sprinted out to a winning start before spring break, going 2-1 and earning third place at the Sterling Tournament Saturday, despite being only a week removed from a state tourney appearance in basketball.

CHS stays winning ahead of break

Per usual, the Clinton soccer program is off to a nice start and heads into spring break with two sweeps, the second of which came against Lawton MacArthur Thursday night at the Tornado Bowl.
