A-B using summer to replace grads

ARAPAHO – The conclusion of another successful spring season for the Arapaho-Butler baseball team also concluded the careers of four senior starters/contributors for the Indians, which meant this summer campaign would be used to try and fill those positions.

It took some time to stabilize, but the Clinton baseball team (11-6-1 overall) is finding its winning formula in the closing games of the 2021 summer campaign.

A summer season filled with winning came to a walkoff conclusion for the Clinton Preps baseball team (16-4 overall), defeating Elk City on the final at-bat, 6-5, Monday night at home.

Community steps up for Gaunt

In each of the past two weekends, Clinton and the surrounding areas showed how much CHS head baseball coach Kelly Gaunt means to them, donating time and money at recent fundraising tournaments.

A little over two weeks into summer workouts, and the Clinton High School football team is seeing almost 100-percent participation, according to head coach John Higbee.

The Clinton boys’ soccer team is washing RV trailers and other vehicles, starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Matt’s RV in Clinton, to raise money for its state championship rings.
