Funeral Services for Peggy Tilley, 90, Oklahoma City resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 12, 2021 in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Patrick Peters and burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

Peggy Rae Tilley was born June 6, 1931 to Virgil and Della Mae (Knight) Tilley in Wewoka, OK and passed away early Sunday, August 8, 2021 in the Oklahoma Heart Hospital South in OKC, OK.

Peggy was raised all over, her father was in the oil field and also worked for the government, she attended 24 different schools. She graduated from Mid-West City Junior High School in 1946 and graduated from Clinton High School in 1949.

She continued her education and graduated from Oklahoma College for Women in 1953 and received her Master’s at Central State University in 1971.

She worked in Processional Art from 1953 to 1963 and in 1964 she began a teaching career at Western Heights. In 1964 she began teaching half days at the Jr. High and Sr. High. The other half days she taught at New Hope two days a week, Will Rogers one day a week and Council Grove two days a week.

In 1966 she started teach all day-every day in the Jr. High and Sr. High level. In 1970 she taught full time at the high school level. She also taught history part time in 1986.

She was a member of the Church of Christ, she loved to read, do photography and working on genealogy.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by sister, Gay Jack and husband, Charles, Clinton; brother, Billy Don Tilley and wife, Earlene, Austin, TX; nieces and nephews Jeffery Jack and wife, Rebecca, Clinton, Kim Hyman, Hammon, Terry Don Tilley and wife, Rosemary, of CA, Kevin Tilley and wife, Dani, Jim Tilley and wife, Laura, and Keith Tilley and wife Laura, all of TX; She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews.
