Services will be held today for Wilma Faye White, 94, at 11 a.m. in the Butler First Baptist Church.

She died Thursday, July 18, 2019, in Elk City.

White was born April 28, 1925, to Ester (Williams) Wilson and William Arvel Wilson in Canute. She grew up in the Prairie View community and graduated from Canute High School.

She worked on the farm for her father until she married her best friend,

On Jan. 28, 1950, she married Leonard (L.D.) Davis White in Clinton. They lived in Clinton for four months until her father became ill, then they returned to her family home and settled there.

White moved to Elk City in 2016 after living in the same home for 91 years. Her hobbies included crocheting and embroidering.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marie and Minnie; and her husband.

Survivors include five nephews and one niece, and a huge extended family of great-nieces and -nephews.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. today at the Butler First Baptist Church. Burial will be at Butler Cemetery following the service. Condolences may be made online at whineryfs.com.
