Memorial services for Wanda Carolina (Martin) Moore, 98, of Clinton will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, officiated by Rick Robart and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Parkersburg Cemetery.

She died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2019.

Moore was born Aug. 11, 1920, in Colony, to John and Maggie Emerson Martin.

She married Tommy Moore on Feb. 7, 1952, in Clinton.

Moore was an adventurous, independent lady and was an inspiration to many. She enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII and served several years before marrying.

During their lives together, her husband served in the U. S. Air Force and the couple traveled the world together.

She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Clinton until 2015, when she went to live at Angelwood Assisted Living in Clinton.

Moore loved volunteering and did so for many years with Meals on Wheels, Wear It Again, Birthday Bingo at the nursing home, and serving the Methodist Church. She also loved doing crossword puzzles, even until her last days.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include her three children, Marty Moore and wife Dixie of Ennis, Texas, Marsha Kobernus and husband Rick of Norman, and Marilyn Deas and husband Bill of Gainesville, Fla. She is also survived by six grandchildren and five great- grandchildren.
