Ruthelma Hoffman, 97, died February 28, 2020 in Houston, TX, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Ruth was born in Quay, OK on August 15, 1922 to Nellie Hopkins Horton and Daniel Boone Horton. Her father was a Methodist minister, so she lived in several Oklahoma towns in her early years. She graduated from Canton High School in 1940 and Central Oklahoma College in 1944.

After college she worked in Ft. Worth and Oklahoma City, Ruth met Winston Leonard “Wink” Hoffman and they were married July 19, 1947 in Waukomis. They farmed a homestead 5 miles east of Custer City for a few Life i • Life • Pla • Mo years and moved to Clinton in the early 50’s. They owned and operated Hoffman Oil Company in Clinton from 1959 to 1970, and Wink’s RV Park from 1970 until 2007.

After Wink’s death in 2007, Ruth moved to Norman, OK and lived with her daughter, Lyndall Hoffman, until 2014. She then lived at a memory care facility in Houston, TX until her death. better when you have a plan

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters: Leola Mosier, Veda Nivens, Mavis nsurance to meet your ever-changing needs hly Payment Plans Nelson, brother Dewey Horton, and daughter Lyndall Hoffman.

She is survived by daughter Diane Hoffman and husband Eric Brandt of Sedona, AZ; son Rick Hoffman and wife Kathy of Houston, granddaughter Michelle Dix and husband Joshua, granddaughter Christina Gola and husband Ryan, and great grandsons Benjamin Gola and Jonathan Gola.

Funeral service will be at Kiesau Funeral Home in Clinton on Saturday March 7, 2020 at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Mound Valley Cemetery in Thomas, OK.
