
Press Meacham was born May 2, 1932, on the family farm in Clinton Oklahoma. After a brief illness he died peacefully surrounded by his family, listening to his favorite hymns and holding his son’s hand.
He was preceded in death by his parents, C.C. Meacham Sr., and Artie Mae Culwell Meacham, and 14 siblings. He attended Clinton schools and graduated in 1950.
He remained a loyal “Red Tornado” for life. Following graduation, his first job was at the Clinton Daily News. In 1956 he moved his family to Oklahoma City and went to work for Proctor and Gamble. He retired from P&G after forty years and earned many awards for top salesman. He went on to work for grocery brokerages until 2020, when the Covid epidemic forced his final retirement.
Press loved to work, saying many times he was happiest when working. In In 1992, he married Billi Kaye. They were able to take many wonderful trips and attend OU football games with best friend, Austin Bell.
He loved his family, telling them often, “I have the best kids and grandkids”. He will be missed by his wife Billi Kaye, daughter Connie Doughty and her husband Pete, son Michael, granddaughter Lacy Ruby and her husband Steve, and two greatgrandchildren Marjorie Ann (Maggie) and Everett Michael (Rett) Ruby.
Press will be remembered for his zest for life, positive attitude, and smiling face.
Friends are invited for a time of viewing and visitation beginning at 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM on Friday, April 18, 2025 at Vondel L. Smith Mortuary North Colonial Chapel 13125 N. MacArthur Boulevard Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73142.
Services to honor and celebrate his life will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home Following the service, friends and family are welcome to gather and share memories in celebration of his life.
Memorial donations are suggested to be made to Special Olympics.
