Funeral Services for Norma Nickel, 85, Clinton resident will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in Clinton’s First Mennonite Church, officiated by Pastor Daniel Mosburg. Burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home

Norma Ann Nickel was born March 13, 1936 to John and Irene (Rempel) Friesen and passed away late Thursday, November 18, 2021 in Moore, OK.

Norma was raised in the Corn area and attended Washita Heights School where she graduated in 1954. She attended the Oklahoma General Hospital Registered Nursing School in 1958. She was employed with Clinton Hospitals for over 42 years, retiring in January of 2000 as the surgical supervisor. She was married to Vernon Nickel August 5, 1960 in Clinton. Besides her full time job in nursing, she assisted her husband with the farming duties.

She was a longtime and faithful member of the First Mennonite Church. She enjoyed gardening; playing cards with Virginia Watson, Jane Ernst and Emily Watkins and playing dominoes with Leon and Peggy Hoffman. She also enjoyed her time spent with grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Parents, sisters, Lucille Nickel, Helen Heibert and infant sister, Lorene Friesen; brothers, Paul Friesen, Bill Friesen and Willard Friesen.

She is survived by daughter, Toni Nickel and wife, Amber Ruiz, Moore, OK; two sons, Lynn Nickel and wife, Ellie, New Smyrna, FL, Chuck Nickel and wife Kasey, Clinton, OK and sister, Lois Barnhart, Phoenix, AZ.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, Nicholas, Chelsea, Cameron and Lince.
