Graveside services for Michael Burden, 69, former vice president of the Clinton Federal Land Bank and Clinton resident will be held Friday, May 8, 2020, in the Lone Oak Cemetery near Sayre, Okla., officiated by Charles Simpson and Randy Meacham. Burial is under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

Michael Kent Burden was born July 18, 1950, to Ira Frederick Burden and Ruby June (Taylor) Burden in Sayre, Okla., and passed away early Tuesday, May 5, 2020, in his Clinton residence.

Mike was raised in Sayre, Okla. where he attended school and graduated from Sayre High School in 1968. He continued his education going to Southwestern State College in Weatherford for a year and then transferring to Sayre Junior College.

He married Connie Susan Dean on Aug. 23, 1969, in Sayre and they soon moved to Goodwell, Okla., where he attended and graduated from Panhandle State College in 1972. He began a career with Federal Land Bank in 1973 and a short time later they transferred him to Clinton.

Mike had a 30 year career in agriculture lending and appraisals and retired in 2002. He stayed active in agriculture, working at the Clinton Sale Barn and the Hobart Sale Barn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ruby June Burden; an infant daughter, Lori Kaye Burden; and his father- and mother-in-law, Frank and Bertie Dean.

He was an active member of the First Christian Church. He had several collections, including knives, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Mike is survived by his wife, Connie, of the home; two daughters, Linda Wilhelm and husband Jerry, and Julie Caldwell and husband Brent, all of Clinton; and a sister, Katy White and husband Jimmy of Bentonville, Ark.

He is also survived by three grandchildren, Mycah Andablo and husband Raul, and Tate Wilhelm, all of Clinton, and Brylan Caldwell of Guymon; and a greatgrandson, on the way.
