Funeral services will be held for Marvella Shepherd, 84, formerly of Custer County, at 10 a.m. Friday in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel.

She died Friday, June 14, 2019, in Duncan.

Marvella Fredona Shepherd was born Nov. 14, 1934, to Benjamin H. Shepherd and Mary Jane (Collins) Shepherd in Arapaho. She was raised in Arapaho and graduated from Arapaho High School in 1952.

After graduating from high school she married John Earl Mosburg in Arapaho.

She later graduated from Southwestern State College in Weatherford with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and then went on to earn her Certified Public Accountant license.

Shepherd worked for several oil companies in Oklahoma City before starting her own accounting practice in 1978.

She was a member of the Methodist Church and was well known for being very organized and having a giving nature. She enjoyed math, finance, computers, traveling, singing and playing the piano, doing water aerobics, and playing with her grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Winford Shepherd and Clifton Shepherd.

Survivors include a son, Ken Mosburg; a daughter, Marla Ridley and husband Brook Ridley; a grandchild, Blake Ridley; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Burial will conclude at Arapaho Cemetery under the direction of the Kiesau Lee Funeral Home.
