Marsha Lee (Mayes) McNeill, better known as Marcie, was born March 8, 1956, in Sulphur, to the late John Stanley and Bea (Crary) Mayes. She died on Monday, February 21, 2022, surrounded by her husband, sons, and daughters, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 65 years, 11 months and 13 days. Marcie and Mark Cole McNeill were married on October 7, 1978, in Sulphur. From this marriage was born two sons, Mason, and Morgan.

Marcie grew up in Sulphur, graduating from Sulphur High School, Class of 1974. Following high school, she attended Oklahoma State University, prior to spending two years working as a Flight Attendant for American Airlines. Once she and Mark married, they made their home in Thomas, OK, where she devoted her time to raising her two sons and creating a loving home environment for them; as well as, assisted with the daily operations of the family ranch. In the mid 1990’s, Marcie attended Southwestern State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Education. She then spent the next 20 years teaching at the Thomas Public School System, retiring in 2018.

Marcie was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She cherished spending quality time with her family, whom she loved dearly. Marcie also maintained a close relationship with her classmates from high school and enjoyed their class reunions each year.

Marcie was a very vibrant, outgoing individual. She had a passion for swimming and loved spending time at the lake with family and friends. Marcie also enjoyed tending to her beautiful flower beds, decorating, and doing crafts. After retiring, she and Mark enjoyed traveling the world together. She stayed active in the lives of her past students and enjoyed following them throughout their sporting events.

Survivors include her husband, Mark McNeill of Thomas, OK; two sons, Mason McNeill & wife Joan of Weatherford, OK, and Morgan McNeill & wife Tember of Low Gap, AR; two grandsons, Alex and Aidan; one sister, Cindy Greenlee of Sulphur; numerous beloved nieces and nephews including Steve Saunders & wife Jerri Dawn, Shelby Brown & husband Jimmie, Autum Looney & husband Blake, Allie Runyan & husband Dyson, and Derrik Whiten; as well as a host of cherished cousins, including David Mayes, and countless dear friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at the Crossway First Baptist Church in Sulphur. Interment will follow at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Marcie McNeill Memorial Fund at The Bank of the West, with locations in Thomas and Clinton, OK.

Services are “entrusted to” Hale’s Funeral Home of Sulphur.
