Judith Stevens Raulston, 77, passed away on August 18, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Judy was a beloved wife, mother, Nana and friend; a devoted Methodist; an elementary teacher; a Bible study leader; a long-time alto in the church choir and talented pianist; an animal lover; and an avid world traveler.

Although she will be missed by all who knew her, especially her three children, we are comforted by the knowledge that she is finally reunited with the love of her life, Bob, and is whole in Christ.

Judy was born on October 20, 1944, in Clinton, OK, to Stacy Earl Stevens (killed in active duty in World War II) and Winona Sturgis Stevens. Judy was raised with her brother, John Truman Stevens, in Clinton by her mother, Winona, and her stepfather, L.T. Madison.

She graduated from Clinton High School in 1962, and received her B.S. in Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and her M. Ed. from Central State University. She was an elementary school teacher for 15 years.

She married Robert Owen Raulston, M.D., on August 5, 1978.

Judy and Bob had three children: Elizabeth Myers Raulston, Anne Caroline Raulston, and James Evander Bean Raulston.

While her children were young, Judy was a selfless and devoted stay-at-home mom and householder manager, but still volunteered her talents in education as a Gesell Developmental Examiner, testing preschoolers for kindergarten readiness, and as a teacher for Bible Study Fellowship.

A life-long Methodist, Judy dedicated her spiritual life to Christ through her membership and service at Church of the Servant, where she served in many leadership roles and in the choir. She also volunteered her time as a founder and board member of Warm World Preschool, and as a board member of Infant Crisis Services. Whenever possible, Judy and Bob traveled the world (with and without their children) to destinations near and far.

Judy was devastated when Bob passed away on October 4, 2001, from lung cancer – but remained in love with and devoted to him until the end.

She was a fiercely independent widow, living alone with her beloved pets and attending as many O.U. football and basketball games as she could (Boomer Sooner!). Judy traveled extensively to visit her children, but always looked forward to hosting them and their families at her home in Oklahoma City.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Raulston, husband James Blake, and grandson Lachlan; daughter Annie Raulston Eastham and granddaughter Olive; and son Jeb Raulston, wife Alden, granddaughters Rosemary and May, and grandson Owen, all of whom love her dearly and will miss her.

Services will be held at United Methodist Church of the Servant, September 6th at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Infant Crisis Services, the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, or to the charity of your choice.
