A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held for John McCauley, 79, Clinton resident, it will be held for family members only at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church officiated by Father Balaswamy Mandagiri.

Burial will conclude in the Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford, OK under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

His visitation started at noon on Saturday, December 19, 2020, in the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.

John Joseph McCauley was born June 3, 1941, to John Edward McCauley and Mildred Estelle (Ricker) McCauley in Hopewell, VA, and passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020, in the Great Plains Medical Center in Elk City, OK.

John was raised in a Catholic Boarding School in Petersburg, Virginia. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1960. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Clinton Sherman Air Force Base in Burns Flat, OK, and was honorably discharged in 1968. He continued his education and graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, OK, in 1972. He began a career of Human Services and met the love of his life, co-worker Sandra (Risinger) Allen. They were married on March 2, 1974, in Weatherford, OK. They made Clinton their home and she preceded him in death in 2010.

He was a lifetime and faithful member of the Catholic Church; a member of the St. Vincent de Paul, and he was a volunteer with the Catholic Food Pantry.

He was an avid Red Tornado Football Fan and was known as the “Mega Phone Man”. He enjoyed playing games, Mexican Dominos, cards, golf, being with family and friends and watching Westerns on television.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Mildred Shipley and a son in law, Jesse Acosta.

He is survived by four daughters, Renae Acosta, Clinton, Sheri R. Smith and Michael, Valley Center, KS, Mary Kathryn McCauley, Clinton and Amy Colleen Barnett and husband, Robert, Kingfisher, OK.

He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family has requested those wanting to give a memorial contribution may do so to the Clinton High School Football Booster Club or St. Jude’s Children Hospital or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
