In 1981, she built the Granada Styling Center and moved her business to a largely undeveloped 30th Street. She continued to work at this location with her long-time colleague, Donna Ackley, until her health declined. Janice was proud to be a Christian and served as an elder and Sunday school teacher at the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served as an elder at the Restoration Church. She participated in multiple bible study groups over the years, most recently at The Edge Church where she attended for many years.
