Janice Kay Blanchard Boyd passed away of natural causes at the age of 73 in her home in Caruthersville, Missouri on December 17, 2019.

She was born on October 31, 1946 in Clinton, Oklahoma to proud parents Benoni and Gladys Blanchard. She graduated from Butler High School in Butler, Oklahoma in 1964.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma in 1982. Janice worked for the Caruthersville Public School System for 29 years as an Associate Teacher, Remedial Math Teacher, and Kindergarten Teacher and retired in 2004.

She was married to Fred Boyd on April 15, 1967 in Butler, Oklahoma. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Caruthersville, Missouri for 48 years. Janice was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Gideons Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benoni and Gladys Blanchard of Oklahoma, her parents-in-law, Roy and Iva Ruth Boyd of Oklahoma, her sister and brother-in-law, Laverne and Glen Millspaugh of Oklahoma, her brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Wilda Blanchard of Oklahoma, her brother-in-law, Tom Boyd of Oklahoma, and her sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Siller of Oklahoma.

Janice is survived by her husband of 52 years, Fred Boyd of Caruthersville, Missouri, her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Margaret Boyd of Paducah, Kentucky, her son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Maria Boyd of Caruthersville, Missouri, her son Bobby Boyd of Portageville, Missouri, her granddaughter and grandson-in-law Janell and Jory Neff of Lorenzo, Texas, her granddaughter, Joshalyn Boyd of Lexington, Kentucky, her grandson, LCPL Matthew Boyd, US Marine Reserves of Lexington, Kentucky, her granddaughter Alexus Boyd of Caruthersville, Missouri, her granddaughter PFC Alyssa Boyd, US Army National Guard of Caruthersville, Missouri, 10 nieces, 8 nephews, 11 great nieces, 12 great nephews, and countless great great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held to celebrate her life on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Caruthersville, Missouri at 1:00 p.m. with Brother Don Layman officiating.
