James Morgan Jones August 22, 1942 - January 9, 2021.

James Morgan Jones, a longtime resident of Cordell, Oklahoma departed from this life on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the age of 78. James was born in Sentinel, Oklahoma on August 22, 1942 to Morgan and Elsie Marie (Ridling) Jones.

He attended school in Cordell, OK then graduated high school at Dill City. OK. James married Verla Beth Eskew on September 16, 1966 at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church in Lake Valley, OK. Together they raised their family in Cordell.

James served in the National Guard 95th command. James worked in floor covering for 15 years, then began custom harvesting from 1985 until he retired in 2018. He loved traveling from Texas to Canada harvesting.

James also enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family encouraging them to pursue their God given talents. He also loved working at his shop and visiting with friends. This might include practical jokes with some fireworks.

James loved the Lord and served him by helping others when needs were noticed. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Morgan Jones and Elsie Marie Jones, one sister; Mary Ann Jones, two brothers; Marshall Dwight Jones and David Ray Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Verla Beth, and children, Rhonda Russ and her husband, Joe Russ of Gravette, AR, and Randy Jones and his wife, Aimée Jones of Clinton, OK, and Racquel Javorsky and her husband Keith Javorsky of Bessie, OK, and Clint Jones of Oklahoma City, OK. He has 13 grandchildren; Jasper Russ and his wife Sarah Russ, Conner Jones, Jace Russ, Morgan Jones and his wife Jaelyn Jones, Jaret Russ, Taylor Javorsky, Nathan Jones, Ryli Russ, Renee Javorsky, Kason Javorsky, and Esmé Jones. He is also survived by his sister, Hazel Fleming from Weatherford, OK, and has a host of family and friends.

Visitation: 9:00 a.m. 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 11, 2021, 9:00 a.m. 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Ray and Martha’s Funeral Home in Cordell, Oklahoma.

Graveside: 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2021 Lawnview, Cemetery in Cordell, Oklahoma.
