A funeral service will be held for Gregory Scott “Greg” Klein, 54, of Monett, Mo., at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Butler.

He died Thursday, April 11, 2019.

Klein was born Aug. 31, 1964, to George G. and Melba M. (Baker) Klein in Clinton. He graduated from high school in Butler and then attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

He then worked for Alltel in Oklahoma until 1988, when he transferred to southwest Missouri. He owned and operated Greg Klein Electric in Monett, Mo.

On Jan. 19, 2014, he married Cathy Simpson.

Klein farmed, raising cattle and chickens, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Some of his favorite pastimes were singing and playing his bass guitar.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include his wife; his father and stepmother, Wanda L. Klein,

of Wichita, Kan.; a son, Scott Klein of Purdy, Mo.; two stepchildren, Chance Barnes of West Plains, Mo., and Abby Halford and husband Tyler of West Plains, Mo.; one brother, Ronnie Klein and wife Teresa of Butler; one sister, Teresa Chaloner and husband Michael of Edmond; and two grandchildren, Corbin and Canaan Halford.

Funeral services were held Sunday at First Baptist Church in Purdy, Mo.

The graveside service will be officiated by Rev. Sandy Shepherd and under the direction of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home.
